The papers that the media choses to promote are often highly simplified to the point of being deceptive. Blame the media for sensationalizing science, not the scientists and doctors who spend years working to make their claims precise and accurate. Scientists are quick to qualify their claims, most are not trying to deceive.

I don’t blame scientists…I just blame the media for advertising all these studies and people believe them to be bible knowledge. True, pediatricians get paid to know what they know, but come on now…

Science controlling Us

It’s funny when a new scientific study comes out, people are all like “Oh, I guess we can do that now, it’s scientifically safe because they did a study on it”. I was feeding Brody some chicken salad with pecans in it and my roommate Heather told me “Babies can’t have nuts that young!” But recently she read a new study released that it’s ok now to feed your kids nuts at 6 months old. It’s funny how science and doctors dictate everything we do. Meanwhile my kids’ great-grandparents are feeding the kids whatever they want because that’s what they fed their kids 40 years ago and they turned out fine.

Would we be better off adopting, surrogating, or something? And would you have any tips for getting through the first months of having a child?

Here’s my opinion: If I came out before I met my wife (and didn’t have any biological children) then I would most certainly adopt because it is cost efficient and these kids need someone in their lives to take care of them because their parents weren’t able to. If you are very rich then why not do the surrogate option, but not all of us are made of money.
